Bob King
In June of 1979, William Robert King, the firm’s founder, began his career in New York City as a project architect in the office of Ulrich Franzen and Associates, a noted international architectural firm. Mr. King’s experience working on projects such as Champion International Headquarters in Stamford, CT; Con Edison-Queens Division Headquarters in Forest Hills, NY; and the Headquarters for Philip Morris in New York City among many others, created the background for establishing his own practice in April of 1984.
From that point onward, Mr. King has developed a firm known for expertise in a wide range of projects and providing a variety of services for a diverse clientele.
In the first decade of practice, the firm’s work concentrated on residential rehabilitation projects for individual clients. In the years since the firm has seen a continuing trend towards residential, medical and commercial projects.
We are committed to improving the quality of services as well as maintaining our high design standards. Toward that end, we have fully computerized drafting & design, utilizing AutoCad, 3D Studio Max and Microsoft Visio Professional software.
OUR SERVICES
Mr. King is a registered architect in New York State and the State of Connecticut, which is where we do almost all of our work, but as a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards since 1985, we can quickly obtain licensing privileges in most states.
Architecture Work P.C. is also a licensed Special Inspection Agency #002410 in New York City. This allows us to perform numerous job inspections and signoffs for our work and that of our consulting team on projects that we design and administrate. Most jurisdictions outside NYC do not usually require documentation aside from our professional licensing.
OUR CONSULTANTS
We retain an array of highly qualified consultants to provide additional services to us in conjunction with our work. This includes all aspects of professional engineering and testing. Included are consultants that we work with on filing our projects with all the requisite agencies having jurisdiction. Also on larger projects we typically add landscape architects, land surveyors and civil engineers to the project team.
For our medical projects involving procedure suites for office based surgery, we also have access to certification experts to make sure your space meets the standards of any one of the three independent agencies having jurisdiction in New York State:
American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF) or “Quad A”
Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC)
The Joint Commission, or “JC”
